What's that about "No Taxation Without Representation"? Were you represented when the switches were made to the Pennsylvania Constitution?
In response to a discussion about the strange wording of ARTICLE VIII - TAXATION AND FINANCE in the Pennsylvania Constitution which reads in Section 1. Uniformity of Taxation: All taxes shall be uniform, upon the same class of subjects, within the territorial limits of the authority levying the tax, and shall be levied and collected under general laws.
Bob wrote: "I will start by saying that the 1968 constitution is TREASON in Pennsylvania.
Under the 1838 constitution the people were sovereign. See Article IV section (2) The people had all of the power and our rights were UNALIENABLE.
Under the 1874 constitution. See Article 1 section (2) They changed the word to INALIENABLE. Ouch!
When you look at Article VIII you need to know what private and corporate profit mean and you know where that goes.
We the People have gone from SOVEREIGN to CITIZEN/SUBJECT and allowed the STATE/CORPORATION to become the sovereign.
And this is just the short of it . . . !"
We in Pennsylvania should be keeping this in mind. The Legislature's plan to increase the Commonwealth's Income Tax is nothing more than a shifting of the income tax fraud from the federal government to the states.
